Beachhead Solutions Releases New Version of Its Email Encryption Add-In for Microsoft Outlook
The new add-in version empowers
businesses to send email attachment files as password-encrypted secure PDFs—establishing
crucial safeguards for emailed data both in-transit and at-rest
Beachhead Solutions, provider of
cloud-managed PC & mobile device encryption, security, and data access
control, today announced that the
company has officially released a new version of its add-in solution for the
Microsoft Outlook classic desktop client on Windows PCs. This new add-in
further simplifies, streamlines, and enhances the processes by which businesses
can send email attachment files as password-encrypted secure PDFs to any
recipient of their choice.
The new add-in release expands its Simple Mode capabilities to yield a
better, easier, and more intuitive “install-and-go” experience for email senders—and
added convenience for recipients accessing the secure PDFs. Installing the
add-in now instantly enables businesses to send correspondence securely to
recipients. Employees can also leverage the unique integrated feature of
sending (and resending) secure PDF passwords via SMS to recipients worldwide,
free of charge.
Other new functionality includes native conversion of image and scan
files to secure PDF (in addition to standard Office files), future self-service
upgrades to the add-in with no IT involvement required, a new integrated
one-button Password Resend function directly accessible to users from the
Outlook ribbon, new user interfaces (UIs) for adding recipient mobile numbers,
and more prominent Backup and Check4Phish™
features.
The add-in’s new features and enhancements make it ultra-simple for
organizations of any size to adopt the secure PDF email encryption standard.
This standard is already commonplace in regions like South Africa, where
recipients regularly receive correspondence from large banks, and financial and
medical institutions as password-protected PDFs.
“Securing data sent to and residing in recipient mailboxes is critical, as
senders have no assurance that recipients have the security hygiene and safe practices
to keep sensitive and confidential data in their systems and email accounts
safe and secure,” said Amit Parbhucharan, GM for EMEA and Asia at Beachhead Solutions. “BeachheadSecure
is already widely implemented at many SMEs and corporations, and this add-in is
currently utilised across numerous industries. With this new version, we make
it that much simpler for businesses to achieve end-to-end encryption that
secures personal, confidential, or sensitive information contained in email
correspondence (attachment files) both in-transit and at-rest.”
This BeachheadSecure® add-in update comes at a time when mandates and regulations to secure third-party personal data are mounting, business email compromise (BEC) and phishing continue to escalate, and cyber insurance underwriters (in their policy schedules) are compelling businesses to implement multiple security measures to mitigate risks of unauthorized data exposure. This has prompted smaller organizations to seek out smart, effective, and affordable tools to help them comply and de-risk their businesses.
The add-in requires zero changes to a business’s email infrastructure,
does not store data in any third-party cloud, requires no special decryption software to be installed on recipient
devices, and recipients do not need to click on any links nor login to portals to
access the encrypted PDF files. This software is immediately available as standalone software from any BeachheadSecure® distributor, MSP, or reseller in EMEA or Asia. As standalone software, the
app is independently licensed and not tied to the current BeachheadSecure® cloud platform, which provides security compliance, data exposure risk
mitigation measures, and managed data encryption for data stored on PCs, Macs, phones,
tablets, and any USB storage device.
